C.W. knows I am abit of a rock hound as well. When he mentioned a road-trip with a big rock I was hooked into the story line right away. He has been kind enough to share his road story with us here.

1999 I took a road-trip to Minot, North Dakota. Out of Enid Oklahoma up Highway 281 to Carrington, North Dakota then switched to Highway 52 to Minot. Headed north from OK on a Thursday evening, drove till two in the morning which got me way up into Nebraska. Catching a cat-nap on the side of the road continuing up Highway 281 North at the break of day.

Buffalo City on North Dakota Highway 281.

Know far and wide as "The Buffalo City". Home to The World's Largest man-made Buffalo. Also known as the Pride of the Prairie. Year round activities O'plenty in this area of America. In the winter, there is snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, etc. During the spring and summer there are all the other recreation and sporting activities one would expect for each of the seasons.

Lots of things one can do for recreation in this area of South Dakota; hunting, fishing, swimming, cross-country skiing, wildlife observations, golf, snowmobiling, sledding, hiking, biking and much, much more.

We are having a satellite tour of Aberdeen, South Dakota - U.S. Highway 281. Historic downtown is brimming with activity. Many things to see and do. Midwestern hospitality mixed with metropolitan progressiveness. Sporting events, Live performances, Recreational and Cultural events, Shopping, Dining, and Site-seeing. There are historic walking tours in the area.

Alva, Oklahoma. Is in Woods County. Full time residents of Alva plus the student population is around 6,000 +/-.

Have you every enjoyed Kool-Aid?  The drink for “kids” of all ages. As a kid we drank it buy the gallons. I liked the Red and Blue flavors best. :-)- The man who invented this All American drink did it right here Hastings Nebraska.
