Being a Cowboy Capital town you will find all kinds of Country and Western related shops and stops. You may see folks wearing spurs, of course like most Texas towns the cowboy hat is common. Golfing around Texas Highway 281 we found, Tejas Golf Course at Tejas Lane off US Hwy 281 North. Features a 9-hole golf course, public welcome. Another course is the Legends Country Club. Featuring an 18-hole golf course. Restaurant and club. Public welcome.
A fun side-trip is a run out to Dublin on Highway 67/377 for some DP. From there you could head East on 6 for a scenic rural drive back to Highway 281 near Hico. Turn back the hands of your clock and enjoy a tour through the oldest Dr Pepper bottling plant in the world.
