Carrington, North Dakota has around 2,000 folks living here. At the intersection of Highway 281 & 200. Called "Central City", because the location is within a 150 mile radius from the 4 largest cities in North Dakota: Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks and Minot.

The Foster County Courthouse, built in 1909 is the most beautiful building in Carrington. One of the thirteen Buechner and Orth courthouses in North Dakota named to the National Register of Historic Places.

Crossroads Golf Course, North of Carrington, on US Hwy 281. 18 Hole Golf Course with driving range. Featuring a scenic 5 mile recreational trail for walking, jogging, bike riding and cross country skiing which connects into the city all the way up to the Carrington Area Park. Hiking Hawks Nest Ridge is nice, 6 miles west on Highway 200, 7 1/2 miles south, Carrington. Highest point in a short ridge of glacial moraine hills rising 800 feet above prairie. The 100-acre nature park is one of state's official watchable wildlife areas.
Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1935 as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. It is an important link in a chain of refuges extending from the prairie lands of the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico. Sportsmen enjoy hunting and fishing on the refuge. Directions: About 23 miles south of Carrington. From Carrington, travel south on Highway 281 to Edmunds. Turn east on County Road 44 for 5.5 miles and turn north on the Headquarters road. There are signs on Highway 281 and County Road 44 directing visitors to the Headquarters.
